EXT. RICK'S POOL SIDE, DAY.
Tracy, in sweats, is standing by the bar.
|
TRACY:
May I have two Pepsis please?
BUTLER:
Of course Ms. Howard.
|
Tracy takes the two Pepsis back to her lounge.
She gives one to her father who is wearing only a small speedo
and keeps one for herself. One of the nude GIRLS, GWEN, walks
past.
|
TRACY:
What about that one?
HOWARD:
I thought we did that one?
TRACY:
So, nothing says we can't do her twice.
HOWARD:
Oh yes it does.
TRACY:
What?
HOWARD:
Nothing.
Nothing says all kinds of stupid things like that.
|
Tracy punches Howard in the shoulder and the other MEN laugh.
|
TRACY:
Yeah, and you guys are no help.
MAN:
Like you need help.
|
Rick comes walking down the path.
|
MEN:
Hi, hello, (etc.)
RICK:
Steve, what's the matter with you?
HOWARD:
What?
RICK:
Looks like you've got a huge turd in your shorts there.
|
Howard looks down.
What he has is a huge erection.
|
HOWARD:
Its these Girls you have around here Rick.
They're torturing me.
RICK:
Torture?
Is that what you call it?
|
Rick laughs and sits at a table set up for cards.
The BUTLER puts a Pepsi down at his elbow.
|
RICK:
Thank you.
Hey Tracy?
TRACY:
What?
RICK:
I put in that pool slide two years ago, when am I going
to see you use it?
TRACY:
You get rid of these voyeurs, and I'll strip down right
now.
RICK:
You hear that boys? I guess you've got to-
|
Brian approaches.
|
BRIAN:
Excuse me but there's someone here to see Miss Tracy.
BOB:
I'll bet its another Stud. Rick isn't there something
in the house rules against ...
|
But Tracy ignores the teasing and follows Brian back into the
house.
|

|
 |
INT. ENTRY WAY, SAME.
Carolyn is waiting for Tracy.
|
TRACY:
Carolyn!
|
And Tracy runs into her arms just like she was six years old
again.
|
CAROLYN:
Hey, you're going to knock me down.
Where can we talk?
|
|
 |
|

|
INT. TRACY'S BEDROOM, CONT.
Tracy leads Carolyn in.
Tracy's room looks like a teen boy's dorm room. Sports posters,
all guys, etc.
|
CAROLYN:
How have you been?
TRACY:
Great! How about you?
CAROLYN:
Better.
|
Tracy frowns, what does that mean?
|
CAROLYN:
I'm in a program.
|
Tracy unzips her jacket and sits on her bed.
|
TRACY:
Acting program?
CAROLYN:
No, I gave that up.
TRACY:
Still couldn't get enough work?
CAROLYN:
No, it was a symptom of my-
|
[there's a knock at the door.]
Tracy takes off her jacket, naked underneath and perspiring.
|
TRACY:
Come in.
|
Brian comes in with a tray, two glasses and two pitchers.
Tracy jumps up and takes her Pepsi glass from Brian.
|
TRACY:
Thank you Brian.
What's that?
BRIAN:
I remembered that Miss Carolyn liked daiquiris.
TRACY:
Oh, wow, that's so great of you.
Carolyn?
CAROLYN:
I'm sorry, I don't drink anymore.
BRIAN:
Oh.
|
Brian sets down the tray and refills Tracy's Soda from one of
the pitchers.
|
BRIAN:
Is there something else I can get you?
CAROLYN:
No. Thank you.
TRACY:
Thank you Brian.
|
Brian leaves the pitcher and takes the tray with him.
|
TRACY:
So its that kind of program.
What was wrong with acting? What did it have to do with
drinking?
CAROLYN:
Nothing, directly, it was just another symptom.
TRACY:
Symptom?
CAROLYN:
I never drank that much, acting was my real drug.
TRACY:
Drug?
CAROLYN:
I was looking for approval, from everyone. From Rick,
from the public, from your father, from you. It was responsible
for everything I did back then, even the cosmetic surgery.
TRACY:
Surge ...
Did you get your tits deflated?
Let me see.
|
But Carolyn won't take off her clothes.
Tracy now is on guard.
She opens a dresser and pulls out a team T shirt.
|
TRACY:
So why did you come back here if everything about here
was ... a "symptom" of your disease?
CAROLYN:
Its part of my recovery. I have to try to undo the damage
I did while ...
|
Tracy is giving a very hard look.
|
CAROLYN:
I wasn't there for you when you needed me and I've felt
bad-
TRACY:
Don't. You were there when I needed you. You were there
for me when my Dad went for the cure.
CAROLYN:
But you needed more then that. You needed someone who
really cared about you.
TRACY:
My Dad-
CAROLYN:
Steve only cares about himself. I've heard he's not drinking
and that's great but what about you?
|
Tracy holds up her glass.
|
TRACY:
Just soda, wanna' try it?
CAROLYN:
No. That's not what I meant.
What about Tracy, how is she doing?
TRACY:
Great.
|
Tracy pulls up her T shirt and shows off her six pack.
|
TRACY:
Look at that.
Feel it, all muscle.
CAROLYN:
I'm sure.
TRACY:
What's your problem?
CAROLYN:
Its the middle of the day in the middle of the week,
why aren't you at school?
TRACY:
Because I'm sixteen and I don't have to go anymore if
I don't want to. Besides I know three languages, I can
figure compounded interest and how to make money just
by changing it from one currency to another. I've even
assisted on an emergency appendectomy. What do I need
from high school?
CAROLYN:
What about college?
TRACY:
What about it?
Rick didn't go. His friends didn't either.
CAROLYN:
Your dad did and your Dad has a real job, he-
TRACY:
Making thin girls thinner?
Oh, yeah, that's important.
CAROLYN:
And what are you going to do with your life? What are
you going to do when he-
TRACY:
Look, everything's cool with us. We don't need to be
fixed so you can go on back to where ever and tell them
you took care of this.
CAROLYN:
It's "Taken care of."
You're just a part of your father. There's no-
TRACY:
I'm happy.
He's happy.
Are you happy?
CAROLYN:
I expect to be when-
TRACY:
Yeah, well give us a call then because right now you're
a downer. And I don't see the point in taking advice from
someone doing worse then me.
|
From Tracy's look there's nothing more for Carolyn to say.
|

|
 |
INT. ENTRY HALL, AFTERNOON.
Tracy closes the door.
Brian comes in from a side hall.
|
BRIAN:
Miss Carolyn not staying?
TRACY:
No, she's not.
|
BEAT
Brian turns back to the kitchen.
Tracy runs up and jumps on his back.
|
 |
|

|
INT. KITCHEN, CONT.
Tracy has her legs locked around Brian's waist and her arms locked
around his neck as he enters the kitchen.
The other servants smile or ignore Tracy.
Brian continues his work as Tracy rides his back.
|
TRACY:
Brian, am I a bad person?
BRIAN:
No!
TRACY:
Carolyn thinks so.
Or she thinks there's something wrong with me.
Do you think there's something wrong with me?
BRIAN:
Not a good time to ask me.
|
Tracy thinks.
She lays her cheek on Brian's shoulder and kisses his neck.
|
TRACY:
I love you Brian.
BRIAN:
I love you too.
TRACY:
You do?
BRIAN:
Yes, of course.
TRACY:
I missed you a lot while we were gone.
BRIAN:
I missed you too.
TRACY:
Brian, do you get enough sex?
BRIAN:
Yes.
TRACY:
(Jumps off)
Good.
|
Tracy looks around.
|
TRACY:
Is there anything I can take down to the pool?
BRIAN:
I don't believe so.
I think the gentlemen have left.
TRACY:
Oh. See you later.
|
Tracy bounces out the door.
|

|
 |
EXT. GROUNDS, AFTERNOON.
Tracy walks across the beautiful grounds in the golden light.
|
 |
|

|
EXT. POOL SIDE, CONT.
Rick is sitting pool side watching the girls play in the pool
while his Girlfriend tries to cover him with her body.
Howard is in the pool with a girl in his lap.
Tracy comes up and touches him on the shoulder.
|
TRACY:
Hi Rick.
RICK:
Hi sweetheart.
TRACY:
Where did Bob go?
RICK:
He said you were taking too long. He and David tried
to get your Dad to take up your hand but he had other
things to do. So they went home.
TRACY:
Sorry.
RICK:
Don't worry about it.
|
Tracy pulls her T shirt over her head, exposing her naked torso.
|
RICK:
Going to use the slide?
TRACY:
Just you wait and see.
|
She kicks off her tennis shoes and drops her sweat pants.
She runs around the planting in just her bikini bottoms and disappears.
A moment later she appears at the top of the slide and throws
off her bikini bottoms.
|
TRACY:
Here I come.
|
She starts off with a jump and comes sliding down.
Howard swims over to grab her under water when she lands in the
pool.
The two of them come up sputtering.
|
TRACY:
Can't catch me.
|
Tracy hops out the side of the pool and a naked Howard follows
her.
At the top of the water slide they join up and go down together,
Tracy with her arms in the air.
Howard with one arm around her from behind.
