Ankarra: Part Three

WHEN ABBASSAD captures KLUM again he decides to enjoy her personally before he kills her.

In his private suite at another compound outside of Damascus he begins her rape.

INT. ABBASSAD SUITE, DAY.

HE grabs her right breast with his left hand while holding a knife to her throat.

KLUM winces in pain.

ABBASSAD:

Does that hurt?

KLUM:

Yes.

ABBASSAD:

Good.

ABBASSAD squeezes her breast even harder.

CU

inside the fabric of KLUM'S bikini a tiny bead of poison is broken by ABBASSAD'S squeeze.

KLUM shrugs when it becomes clear what ABBASSAD has done to himself.

He slides to the floor.

KLUM brings her handcuffed hands under her feet and

digs in ABBASSAD'S clothes for the key.

INT. HALLWAY, LATER.

The door to the bedroom opens and KLUM appears in the doorway, wearing just ABBASSAD'S shirt. (We can see the back of ABBASSAD'S head in a chair facing the messed up bed.)

KLUM:

I'm afraid he's a little tired now, but he said he wanted to watch.

KLUM looks from one GUARD to the other and decides she wants the left one.

The GUARDS look at each other and then

the chosen one follows KLUM into the bedroom and

closes the door behind himself.

INT. HALLWAY, LATER.

The door to the bedroom opens and KLUM belatedly remembers to pull ABBASSAD'S shirt closed.

KLUM looks at the remaining guard.

KLUM:

Uhm, it seems I've worn both of them out.

Uh, would you be ...?

INT. BEDROOM, SAME.

The GUARD pushes KLUM into the room and closes the door behind him.

It is clear the GUARD is suspicious.

GUARD:

Abbassad?

The GUARD walks into the room and turns to face ABBASSAD,

who is out cold in the chair.

KLUM comes flying from OS RIGHT and knocks the guard OS on the other side.

INT. BEDROOM, LATER.

CU KLUM

pulls a man's hand through a man's naked legs.

WIDE SHOT.

ABBASSAD and the Two GUARDS are naked and asleep in the bed.

ABBASSAD is on his back with his arms spread.

ONE GUARD is on each side of him, their legs entwined on top of ABBASSAD, their hands between each other's legs.

KLUM:

Now lets see how they explain that.

INT. HALLWAY, LATER.

KLUM comes out of the bedroom, dressed in Arab clothes.

She carefully locks the bedroom door and

then raps the bikini around her right fist.

While escaping from the compound KLUM repeatedly uses the bikini on her right hand to knock out her opponents.

Until that is ...

EXT. COURTYARD, DAY.

KLUM comes running out of the door and

a large GUARD steps out of his hiding place and punches KLUM.

SHE goes flying.

SHE gets back on her feet but

the GUARD is blocking the only escape route.

The guard puts away his weapons.

He's intent on knocking KLUM around barehanded and that is exactly what he proceeds to do.

KLUM is light and not very strong.

SHE does know how to fight but she has very little hope against this huge man.

After landing painfully again,

KLUM looks up at the GUARD standing some feet away and beckoning her to try again.

KLUM:

(German Speech)

Scheisse

Das Alles wurde soviel eintaches sein, wenn du mich nur einen Treffes setzen lassen wurdest.

(English Subtitles)

Shit!

This would be so much easier if you'd just let me land one punch.

The GUARD seems to understand German and he laughs.

GUARD:

(German Speech)

Du desnlest, dass du mich dadusch kriegst.

(English Subtitles)

Okay. You think you can take me.

The GUARD stretches his arms out to the sides and behind.

He shoves his chin forward.

GUARD:

(German Speech)

Ich lass dich einen fur umsost haben..

(English Subtitles)

I'll let you have one for free.

KLUM looks at him.

GUARD:

(German Speech)

Los. Zeig mil was du dsauf hast.

(English Subtitles)

Come on. Give me your best shot.

KLUM shakes her head and gets to her feet.

She winds up and plants a good right hook on the GUARD'S chin.

CU

another bead of poison in the bikini lining breaking.

KLUM:

Scheisse!

KLUM jumps about wringing her hand. (Its probably broken.)

The GUARD'S face didn't even move.

HE opens his eyes and sees her cradling her hand.

GUARD:

(German Speech)

Das was 's schon?

Es fuhlte sich eher an wei ein schmetterslingskuss.

Nun bin ich dsan/an des Reihe.

(English Subtitles)

Was that it?

I thought a butterfly had kissed me.

Now it's my turn.

The GUARD winds up.

And keeps winding into the ground.

The chase continues back to Damascus.

(Foot chases, horses, cars, motorcycles, whatever.)

EXT. STREET DAMASCUS, DAY.

KLUM makes her way to the American consulate.

INT. CIA OFFICE-CONSULATE, LATER.

She breaks into a room where DAVID HEDISON is on the phone.

KLUM:

David, tell them the bomb and the Siran are at a compound North East of the city.

KLUM runs to the wall mounted map and points.

HEDISON continues to talk on the phone passing the information that KLUM has given him.

EXT. DAMASCUS STREET, DAY.

SYRIAN police surround the consulate and invade it.

INT. CIA OFFICE, LATER.

They break into the office just as HEDISON hangs up.

KLUM and HEDISON put their hands up

the SYRIANS handcuff both of them.

KLUM:

Why are you handcuffing him?

He's just a TV actor.

SYRIAN OFFICER:

Yes, I have met a lot of American actors in the last few days. But this man is not what he appears to be. I happen to know he is American CIA.

KLUM:

No he's not.

He just plays CIA in the movies.

KLUM and HEDISON are marched off in custody.

INT. MILITARY AIRCRAFT, SAME.

JOHN RHYS DAVIES, in a Hawaiian shirt waves paratroopers out the back of the plane.

(The Paratroopers attack the compound and secure the bomb and the siran.)

INT. SYRIAN POLICE STATION, HALLWAY, DAY.

The SYRIAN OFFICER walks down the hallway past guard after guard with a machine guns aimed in the same direction.

[Music similar to same scene in Goldfinger.]

The door to KLUM'S cell is open and three more guards sit inside with machine guns on her.

KLUM is handcuffed to a bunk.

The Syrian OFFICER unlocks KLUM'S handcuffs.

KLUM:

What's happened?

OFFICER:

Miss Klum we are so sorry for the misunderstanding.

Our government, the Turkish government and the entire world owe you a debt of gratitude.

KLUM looks at him doubtfully as she rubs her wrists.

OFFICER:

If you had simply told us that you were attempting to neutralize a secret militant group and recover their weapons, I can assure you, I and my men would have only been too glad to have provided you with every assistance.

KLUM nods slowly.

KLUM:

You would?

And what about Minister Abbassad?

OFFICER: (all innocence)

Minister Abbassad?

I don't understand the connection.

The compound where the weapons were found belonged to the Haddads. A family with a long history of support for elements trying to topple the legitimate government of Syria. I was unaware that Minister Abbassad was trying to help you.

BEAT

KLUM nods.

KLUM:

I see.

EXT. POLICE STATION, DAY.

KLAUS is there to greet KLUM.

KLAUS:

Heidi, I'm so glad you're all right.

He puts her into a car.

He goes around to the driver's side to get in but KLUM has slid across inside and drives off before he touches the door.

INT. MINISTER'S OFFICE, LONDON, DAY.

CHRISTOPHER LEE is on the phone.

LEE:

No, Mr. President. I don't know where she is.

I understand she said something about unfinished business but the last anyone saw her was two days ago.

BEAT

LEE:

No Mr. President.

I can assure you her majesty's government will do all we can to find her and to make sure she contacts the proper Syrian authorities before she destroys any other groups of militants.

BEAT

LEE:

Yes sir.

I will let you know as soon as we hear anything.

LEE hangs up.

MAX VON SYDOW sits in an overstuffed leather chair stroking the fur of a white cat.

SYDOW:

(Swedish Speech, Does not match translations, only Swedish/English speakers will get this joke.)

So, you were saying?

(English subtitle, Does not relate to Swedish speech.)

Is it bad?

LEE:

Hmm?

I was?

Oh yes Ms. Welch.

Well as I said, the first time I only got to see her ass but the second time, well her star quality was on full display.

Well so far the Syrians are mollified that no one has made any connection to their government.

SYDOW:

You are so lucky, I never get to work with that kind of talent.

Was there a connection?

LEE:

What are you talking about?

How many films have you made with Liv Ullman?

Abbassad is a member of their government but it's clear he was acting on his own.

No one else in the Syrian government had any idea what he was up to.

Of that much we're sure. The problem for the Syrians is that there was no smoking gun pointing to him and he has the power and the connections that they can't do anything about him with out catching him red handed.

SYDOW:

Pash, blondes in Sweden are like pebbles on the beach.

Now Latinas?

I hear they have fire in the blood.

Which would be very embarrassing in itself.

LEE nods an acknowledgment.

VON SYDOW stands up and puts the cat down.

He picks up a leather "Road Reamers" jacket and swings it over his shoulder.

SYDOW:

And you've had love scenes with Maud Adams, and Caroline Munroe and ...

I can't remember who else.

And what do I get?

You and a cat that sheds.

Well there's nothing you can do at the moment.

Why don't we go for a ride?

Penny can contact you if they hear anything?

LEE nods and swings his own leather "Road Reamers" jacket over his shoulder and goes out with VON SYDOW, arm in arm.

INT. ABBASSAD'S OFFICE, EVENING.

ABBASSAD wraps up his desk, etc. and leaves his office.

INT. CAPITAL, EVENING.

ABBASSAD waves at GUARDS on his way out.

EXT. STREETS, EVENING.

ABBASSAD drives his Mercedes through the streets of Damascus.

INT. MANSION, EVENING.

ABBASSAD comes into his sumptuous home.

He drops his briefcase inside the door and

kicks off his shoes.

He goes into a side room.

INT. ROOM, CONT.

ABBASSAD sits down in a huge chair and turns on the TV and VCR to watch some western show.

ABBASSAD:

Jennifer, I'm home.

Bring me some beer.

A moment later a WOMAN shrouded in cloaks from head to foot (with a veil) comes into the room with a large beer stein.

She sets it down beside him.

ABBASSAD takes a huge swig and smiles.

The WOMAN bows and begins to walk away.

ABBASSAD looks down and notices that she is wearing slippers.

ABBASSAD:

Jennifer, wait a moment.

He looks down and pulls off her slipper to reveal a pale foot with painted toe nails.

ABBASSAD looks up quickly into KLUM'S eyes.

KLUM has a knife at his throat that has already cut the skin and is beginning to bleed just a little.

ABBASSAD comes to his feet and begins backing towards the windows as KLUM keeps the knife pressed against his throat.

ABBASSAD:

What is this?

Your government has agreed not to press charges!

You can't do this!

KLUM:

I have a little unfinished business to conclude with you.

ABBASSAD:

I don't understand. You have the plutonium. You have the bomb and the siran. The soldiers are dead. If you kill me it will cause an international incident.

Why?

KLUM:

Because of Ali.

ABBASSAD:

Ali?

KLUM:

You forgot about him didn't you?

ABBASSAD:

Ali was a fool. I never told him to kidnap you. He was crazy.

KLUM:

He was just a naive young boy. And not only did you lie to him but I'm sure there will be other naive young boys, who will believe you when you tell them that Allah is calling upon them to push the infidels out. That they must protect Islam from the decadent influences of the West. While you enjoy your beer, your TV/VCR, DVD, Rolex watches and Mercedes Bens.

ABBASSAD is against the windows now but he sees something behind KLUM and he wants to make her take her time.

ABBASSAD:

But, that's nonsense.

Ali was a fool but he had nothing to do with the other things. That's why I sent him to Ankara, to protect him, because he was foolish and impressionable.

KLUM:

Uh, uh.

Won't work. I found plutonium traces on Ali's skin.

He was into all of it with you.

ABBASSAD is surprised.

ABBASSAD:

But, can you really kill me in cold blood?

KLUM:

I don't have to.

Who ever has been coming up behind KLUM now thrusts past her and stabs ABBASSAD with a kitchen knife.

It is ABBASSAD'S WIFE, played by Jennifer O'Neal.

WIFE:

That's for giving our daughter to one of your business associates.

Stab.

WIFE:

That's for cutting out her sex and sewing her up at eight.

Stab KLUM walks away as the WIFE stabs ABBASSAD repeatedly.

WIFE:

That's for having my sister stoned to death after she was raped.

Stab.

FADE to BLACK.

FADE up on

INT. SYRIAN POLICE STATION.

DAVID HEDISON is handcuffed and sitting at a table.

The POLICE are very excited and arguing amongst themselves but it is clear HEDISON has been forgotten.

HEDISON:

It's at times like this that I miss Richard and Irwin.

They would get me out of this.

FADE TO BLACK

FADE UP FROM BLACK

EXT. MEDITERRANEAN BEACH, AFTERNOON.

KLUM'S back is to us, she is still dressed in the Arab robes she wore as ABBASSAD'S WIFE.

her body shakes with quiet sobs.

REVERSE ANGLE

Tears are running down KLUM'S face when a hand rests lightly on her shoulder.

KLUM looks up and ...
