... "My lord Gladys, that girl doesn't have anything on."
... "Don't be a curmudgeon dear. She has a one piece swimsuit on."
... "A one piece, and what piece would that be?"
... "You're showing your age."
... "Well what about that girl over there. You can't tell me she's decently dressed."
... "Yes I can."
... "You're not even looking."
... "If you make me look it'll cost you?"
... "I'm serious, now that girl is naked."
... Finally Gladys looks up from her novel with a this-had-better-be-good expression on her face. Gladys takes one look and then puts her head back in her novel. "She's not naked."
... "What do you mean she's not naked?"
... "She's got a swimsuit on, it becomes transparent when wet."
... "Transparent! What's the point then?"
... "Well it got your attention didn't it. And she's not the only one. Her friend over there has one on too. And the girl over there has a REAL string bikini on."
... Alfred looks up and down the beach becoming more and more perplexed as he finds almost a dozen young women in what can only be described as male fantasy swimsuits.
... "Where did they all come from?"
... "They came together with that man over there about forty five minutes ago."
... "Forty five minutes ago? Where was I?"
... "You were right here, being a very good grandpa, keeping an eye on your grandkids to make sure they were safe. I took bets with myself when they came as to how long it would take you to notice them."
... "Who won?"
... She leans over and kisses him on the cheek. "You did dear."
... "I only noticed because I saw William stop playing and just stare off into the distance so I finally followed where he was staring and saw that naked butt."
... "Yes, very commendable of you."
... "Do you think it's a good idea to ... you know, leave William and Kathy on the beach with them?"
... "I think it's a little late to do anything about it. It looks like Willy already has a woody and Kathy is talking to Janice Stakes."
... "Who?"
... "She's an Olympic swimmer. I think that man there is the one she lives with. The one who pays all her expenses while she's training."

... A woman comes out of the water wearing a T shirt with "Slitz" printed on the front. ... "Oh, would you look at that? That's not decent." ... "It doesn't mean what you think it does dear. It's the name of a German magazine." ... "Oh, well-" ... "You really haven't been getting enough sex have you dear? Just try to relax." ... "I'll try." |
... He watches Kathy who is joking with the girls, who seem to be having fun, rather like one big sorority.

... But everywhere Alfred looks he sees more flesh then the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition and Victoria's Secret Catalogues combined.
..on the plane coming back from California? Remember how his balloon exploded?"
... "They're not filled with air dear. They're filled with salt water and they don't expand with altitude."
... "Oh, what about what happened in Denver? Those-"
,,, "We're at sea level dear. She's not going to explode today."
... "Oh, well okay. But what if she fell and-"
... "Not today Alfred, she's just sitting over there by the snack bar and if she goes swimming you be sure to keep and eye on her. If those things are full of air they could push her head under."
... "What?" He sees Glady's smile. "Oh, I was getting a little too excited huh?"
... "Just a little."
... "Uh, sorry."
... "It's all right. Just keep your eyes on the kids. Its safer."

... One of the women bends over to wash off her hands and Alfred gets a look down the throat of her suit and between her legs. ... "Oh my God!" ... Gladys slaps her book shut and stands up. She puts out her hand for her husband. "Come along Alfred." ... "What?" ... "Come along, I said." ... "But what about the kids?" ... "They'll be all right. This is important." ... Gladys sees the doubt in his eyes. |
... "Come along now, Alfred."
... He takes her hand and she leads him to the parking lot. They find their car and Gladys opens the passenger door. "Sit down Alfred."
... "But-"
... "Sit!"
... He sits in the passenger seat.
... "Take off your swim trunks Alfred."
... "But-"
... "No one's going to look at your wrinkled old ass but me. Now take them off."
... He takes them off and hands them to Gladys. She sets them on the ground and then kneels on them with her head between his legs. His eyes go wide open.
LATER
... Gladys and Alfred return to their umbrella on the sand. Alfred lies down and is soon asleep. Gladys sets down her book. Now SHE has to watch the kids.
